Denton & Nickels
Business Loans Case Study
The Company
Formed in 1999 primarily to install central heating systems for both social and private landlords, Denton & Nickels has evolved into all areas of construction, today employing 70 people. It has a large portfolio of public sector clients including more than 10 local authorities across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. Sheffield Children’s Hospital and South Yorkshire Housing Association are also key clients.
The Challenge
Managing Director Mark Denton said: “Investment from Finance Yorkshire was vital in order for us to increase our buying power, make process improvements and maintain our high levels of customer service. We’re also targeting further growth by expanding our reach across the public sector in Yorkshire as well as entering the private sector.”
Finance Yorkshire Involvement
The company has used a £100,000 Business Loan from Finance Yorkshire to expand its customer base across Yorkshire and beyond and secure further new clients in the private sector.
The Investment Rationale
Finance Yorkshire’s David Ward explains: “Mark and his team have built a solid business over the last few years and enjoy a reputation for outstanding workmanship and customer service. The company is now well positioned to expand its Yorkshire customer base as well as reach new clients in the private sector.”
Future Expectations
Denton & Nickels has seen its turnover increase from £2.4m in 2013 to £6.7m in 2014. The business is currently on target to hit £8m.
The business is presently employed on a development to improve facilities at Sheffield Children’s Hospital which includes a new wing incorporating three wards, an outpatients department and a landscaped garden.
